When We Said I Do

"The Charcoals of Love". That's right... that's how Shane asked me to marry him. And even crazier is that I said yes to that! And a little over a year later we had the most amazing wedding.
We got married on May 13, 2006 at Honeymoon Island. It is a state park near Clearwater, Fl in a wonderful little town called Dunedin.
We got married with our toes in the sand as the sun set on the most amazing view. The ceremony was performed by my uncle and was absolutely perfect (although I felt like the vows just went on and on... which most likely has more to do with the fact that I hate talking in front of crowds). Shane's sister and brother-in-law sang "When God Made You" by Newsong and Natile Grant. And our ring bear provided a few chuckles from his shenanigans in the sand.
We took pictures while the sun set and then headed to the tent a little up the shore for our reception. The tent was lit by christmas lights and had a dance floor in the middle that was busy all night.
The food was amazing. I know there was fish, but that is really all I remember (other than it was awesome). And I remember not being able to get my drink on because the staff was way to good. Every time I would set my drink down to talk to someone I would go to pick it up and it would be gone.

The moon was unbelievable that night. It was just off the horizon, huge, and orange! It was what is called a harvest moon. We danced the night away and had a great time. The party ended way to soon, but everything was so wonderful.

And all our guest traveled (some very far) to share our day with us which means more than they will ever know. And we will never be able to thank the people (like our parents) enough that made our every dream come true for our special day.  Everyone went above and beyond to make it perfect. Even though we do not have many photos of that day, my memories are still clear. And I will never forget.
